E4 spies are a tooling dedicated to the developper to help him to understand what is running in the E4 engine. This tooling must be installed by all developers that want to understand and manage the E4 runtime.
This component provides also an extension point (org.eclipse.e4.tools.spyPart), to define your own spy for your business (IOT, network, memory, ...).
2024 Update : Use now the spies provided in the PDE. You should not install theses spies from the market place anymore.
2023-09 Update : Spies have been removed from the eclipse.pde.ui release... DO NOT use this version to install them again... use Install New Software with the update site 2023-09 and look for spies...
2022 Update : Spies are now totally included in eclipse.pde.ui (from release 2022-03) and you don't need to install them anymore.
If you are using Eclipse 2021-12, not all the spies are included in pde.ui, so you should still install the missing one from here (0.19).
