SqlSage is a third-party AI assistant for DBeaver 26.x. Describe what you want and it writes safe, schema-aware SQL for your dialect, grounded in your live connection — tables, columns, keys, indexes. It fills the AI gap for DBeaver Community and adds multi-provider choice on top of the built-in AI.

What it does

• Chat in context of the open SQL editor and active connection; the chat follows when you switch connections.
• Explain query / explain the last error / rewrite & insert SQL straight into the editor.
• Read-only tool-use: the model inspects schema metadata and runs classified read-only queries; INSERT/UPDATE/DELETE/DDL never run without an explicit confirmation dialog showing the exact SQL.
• Multi-database via the DBeaver model + JDBC — PostgreSQL, MySQL/MariaDB, Oracle, SQL Server, SQLite and more; dialect detected from the connection.

Why it's different

• Sign in with your own Claude or Codex CLI — no API key, no extra AI bill. SqlSage never sees, stores or transmits a provider key or token.
• Private by design: only your SQL and schema metadata are sent to the model — never row data, unless you opt in per session. Every tool call and executed statement is written to a local audit log.
• Multi-provider: switch between Claude and Codex in the UI.

Install in DBeaver

1. DBeaver → Help → Install New Software…
2. Add… → paste the update site: https://sqlsagedbeaver.lumasoft.pl/updatesite
3. Select SqlSage for DBeaver → Next → accept → Finish, then restart.

Note: if DBeaver is installed in a write-protected folder (e.g. Program Files), run it from a writable location or as Administrator so p2 can write the plugin. Requires the claude or codex CLI installed and signed in. Full guide: sqlsagedbeaver.lumasoft.pl/docs.
