Important Installation Note: A.L.L.Y 1.0.1 requires modern Eclipse core components. If you receive a "Missing requirement: bundle org.eclipse.e4.ui.dialogs 1.7.0" error, please ensure you check the box "Contact all update sites during install to find required software" in the installation menu, or upgrade to Eclipse 2026-03 or newer.

1. Smart Inline Code Completion

Accelerate your development workflow with intelligent, real-time code suggestions available across all Eclipse editors. We have made a conscious choice not to use shadow coding. Completion is done only at your request!

• Trigger Completion: Position your cursor and press CTRL | CMD + '
• Accept Suggestion: Press ENTER to seamlessly insert the proposed code.
• Dismiss Suggestion: Press ESC or any other key (or click away) to close the suggestion box.

💡 Developer Note: A.L.L.Y code completion is a tool that provides suggestions based on the user selected completion model. Completion is only as "smart" as the model. Always review the suggested code carefully before accepting it into your codebase.

2. The Interactive A.L.L.Y Menu

Right-click anywhere inside your Java Development Tools (JDT) editor to unlock the A.L.L.Y Menu, featuring powerful, context-aware actions:

• Review Your Code: Instantly launches an interactive chat window. A.L.L.Y (based on the review model you chose) automatically analyzes your code to provide a comprehensive review—spotting potential bugs, optimization opportunities, and refactoring tips. You can continue the conversation to iterate on its feedback.
• Chat About Your Code: Opens the chat window with your active code injected as context. Ask targeted questions, brainstorm alternative implementation strategies, or debug complex logic with an assistant that reads along with you.
• Modernize Your Code: Select any statement or block of code and you can ask A.L.L.Y to modernize your code to the Java level you are running.
