Eclipse Community Awards 2012

Top Committer Awards Information and Guidelines

Daniel Megert

In recognition of his long term Eclipse engagement, passion and extraordinary work towards improving Eclipse.
He must have opened nearly a half of Eclipse bugs!

Kim Moir

I would like to nominate Kim Moir for Top Committer. There are lots of reasons why Kim is very deserving of this award with the dedication she has shown for Eclipse over the past 10 years. However, this year she has gone above and beyond all expectations by addressing Bug#345479 -- Moving the entire Eclipse and Equinox projects to Git.

This was something that the community demanded, but Kim stepped up and made it a reality.

Great work Kim!

Markus Schorn

In recognition of his outstanding work on the CDT project in the last years. Markus added many features and maintained difficult and crucial components of CDT such as the C/C++ parser, the indexer and code navigation.

Silenio Quarti

Silenio has been part of the Eclipse Platform bedrock for many years as committer and then lead of the SWT widget framework that all of Eclipse on the desktop builds upon. He has continued to lead SWT in the past year, working towards porting to GTK+3, adding Windows 7 features, and much more. At the same time he co-developed an amazing new JavaScript editor for the Eclipse Orion project, which is already one of the fastest and most stable web-based source editors available.

Zhao Zhongwei

Since becoming PDT committer two years ago, Zhao has become the main force behind the project. From bug triage, thru reviewing community patches, fixing bugs and adding new features, like most recently support for PHP 5.4. He fixed over half of the PDT bugs!

Sven Efftinge

Sven is the project lead of Xtext and Xtend and cares for the great vision behind these projects since the very first days. As the lead architect of the DSL framework and the Xtend programming language, he's doing a great job to ensure that the implemented concepts are always consistent and coherent with the big picture behind those technologies. His work to get Xtend out into the world is simply awesome. Sven is a passionate programmer, a very entertaining speaker and a great guy to discuss with. I'd like to nominate him for Top Committer to honor his great work.
