Orion - Most Innovative New Feature or Project

Orion's objective is to create a browser-based open tool integration platform which is entirely focused on developing for the web, in the web. Tools are written in JavaScript and run in the browser. The initial contribution was in January, 2011 and since that time the project scope and capability has grown significantly.

Clearly Orion is heading in the right direction since corporations such as IBM, Red Hat, VMWare, Google and Mozilla are taking a significant interest in utilizing and contributing to the easily shared components within the project. Development on the web will be a reality in 2012 due to the legwork of Open Source projects such as Orion.

As one of the winners of Black Duck's 2011 Rookies of the Year awards it's clear through the metrics of the project there has been continual growth in the amount of code and code submitters and that growth is continuing with a diverse set of people joining the weekly development scrum.

Fire up a browser, fork Orion, and start contributing. It's that easy.
