Glance is about incremental text search with highlighting. That's what you can use in every modern browser and so miss in Eclipse. Glance is simple and powerful. And it works almost with any rich component which you can see inside your Eclipse.
And even more:
* it's fast and never blocks your text box
* it works in editors, views and dialogs; rich texts, tables and trees
* automatically update matches if content will be changed
* customizable search (from case sensitivity to regular expressions)
* can index trees to find hidden matches
* supports GEF/GMF!
Just few shortcuts you need to remember:
* open: CTRL+CMD+F on Mac and CTRL+ALT+F on other platforms
* next match: ENTER; previous match: SHIFT+ENTER
* close: ESC

I see very strange behavior in the project explorer window when installed on a 64 bit version of eclipse. I'm currently running the version below but have seen this on previous Mars and Neon releases. It would be great to get his fixed as It's one of my favorite additions to eclipse.
Eclipse for Parallel Application Developers
Version: Neon Milestone 7 (4.6.0M7)
Build id: 20160505-1310

Very very useful ... just had to figure out an available keyboard shortcut combination on mac that didn't conflict with existing mapping ... I went with ctrl+command+z

Amazingly useful. I've never thought such contextual search can be done.
I think this will be useful to have as link:http://code.google.com/p/eclipse-glance/
The update URL is at the google code home page.

This plugin let's you search almost every place in Eclipse you can imagine.
Want so look for a certain word in 50 pages of output in the Console View? Looking for a certain test in the Junit-View? Even in dialogs like Project Properties - Build Path the search works perfect.
It's one of those neat little tools that you simply use without thinking about it, but certainly miss if it isn't there.
