GUIdancer is an Eclipse-based tool for automated GUI testing (acceptance and regression testing), and is based on the Eclipse Jubula project. It is aimed at teams who want their automated tests to be written by test experts from the user perspective, without requiring any coding effort. GUIdancer tests incorporate best practices from software development to ensure long-term maintainability of the automated tests.
Functional tests for Java (Swing, SWT/RCP/GEF) and for HTML, .NET and iOS applications can be created using the powerful library of actions delivered with the tool.
This library allows testers to write modular, flexible tests without any programming effort at all. Tests are created simply by dragging and dropping the required modules from the library. As well improving test productivity from the start, this approach also means that tests can be written in parallel to the development, making GUIdancer suitable for agile processes.
Because of the structure and flexibility of the installed modules, test maintenance is kept to a minimum. Central changes update a whole test, without any need to edit program code.
