Support for Eclipse 2019-12 expected?
Submitted by Roberto Freitas on Wed, 2020-03-25 05:24
I use Eclipse 2019-12, but since supported version stopped on 2018-09, I ask if this is discontinued?
If it isn't are there any plans for a release for Eclipse 2019-12?
If it is, what alternative can I use to format JSON on save?
Support for Eclipse 2019-12 expected?
Submitted by Roberto Freitas on Wed, 2020-03-25 05:16
I was using this on Eclipse Oxygen and loved it.
Now I decided to update my Eclipse version to 2019-12 and realized that this isn't available yet.
Since the last supported version is Eclipse 2018-09, I ask if this was discontinued?
Finally got it installed

Had to download JAR file and manually place in plugins folder then restart. Marketplace drag-n-drop and Help>Install New Software did not work for me for Luna 4.4.
Cannot install using Eclipse Marketplace Client

The current update site can not be used by Eclipse 4.4 (Luna). "Problem Occured: Unable to read repository at [...] bitbucket.org/denmiroch/jsontools/raw/ae2e9d683249ef989d940b441e00b74df729164c/JsonSite/site.xml/content.xml.

Formatting
Submitted by Jan Skarvall on Thu, 2015-12-03 09:51
When formatting, the formatted file is automatically saved. This is a behaviour that is not consistent with how e.g. Java formatting behaves.
Nice plugin but ...
Submitted by Db Bug on Tue, 2016-03-15 06:27
Saving after formating ... Still the case, not saving would be great !
And "*.json" files were still opened with JavaScript Editor, default had to be changed in Eclipse preferences. Not a big deal ...
Install site doesn't work
Submitted by Fred Vogt on Thu, 2015-08-20 13:22
Eclipse:
java.io.IOException: bitbucket.org /denmiroch/jsontools/src/default/JsonSite/ is not a valid repository location.
Instead I had to use the "raw" view of site.xml:
Help -> Install New Software... -> [Add] button
https:// bitbucket.org /denmiroch/jsontools/raw/ae2e9d683249ef989d940b441e00b74df729164c/JsonSite/site.xml
AGAIN BROKEN!!

This appears to be a common issue with this plugin
Update site unusable
Submitted by W. Craig Trader on Thu, 2015-08-20 11:56
The current update site (---) as managed by the Atlassian tools can not be used by Eclipse 4.5 (Mars). When Eclipse tries to load the site.xml file, instead of getting the actual XML content, it's getting an unparseable mess of HTML. To see this in practice, use wget to load ---/site.xml and then look at the resulting site.xml file.
Manual installation (as described here: ---) should still work.
Can not install

I can not install this plugin. The followin messages are shown:
Unable to read repository at https ://bitbucket.org/denmiroch/jsontools/default/JsonSite/
https ://bitbucket.org/denmiroch/jsontools/default/JsonSite/ is not a valid repository location.
Install manually

Go to https ://bitbucket.org/denmiroch/jsontools/wiki/Home and use the manual installation instructions; the update site is hosed by BitBucket at the moment.

Easy and fast

Nice plugin but it only supports one JSON in .json file :(
I know only one json should be in one file but I have multiple JSONS in a file...
When I try to reformat my JSON it format first json and deletes the rest ;D That's a bummer ;(
Anyway this plugin works and is super fast 5/5
Great tool

Json Tools is better than JSON Editor Plugin. It shows index for array items and long HTM inside strings is processed correctly. Also it s much quicker and more responsive. I started using in Eclipse Luna and Enide Studio 2014.
