Details

Diver is a dynamic analysis tool for Java that integrates scalable sequence diagram views with an interactive trace-focused UI in Eclipse. Diver provides sophisticated debugging support for understanding and exploring features of interest.

Through a series of plugins for Eclipse, Diver allows you to:

  • easily record and capture traces of your running program;
  • interactively visualize, filter and share sequence diagrams of the captured traces;
  • selectively focus core Eclipse views on the traced code; and
  • seamlessly navigate between sequence diagrams and the trace-focused source code views.

Diver has a rich set of innovative features that include:

  • software reconnaissance to support drilling into code that is specific to a feature of interest;
  • support for tracing only when certain breakpoints are reached in debug mode;
  • easy to configure filters that can be applied before, during or after trace capture and visualization; and
  • advanced sequence diagram features for compressing loops and navigating dynamic traces within a timeline.

Just the tool I was looking for.

I needed to create sequence diagrams from reverse engineered java packages. This plugin did that and much more. The thing that sets this plugin far above other plugins has to do with the video tutorials that explain step by step how to do everything with the plugin. GREAT WORK. It will now look like I have started documenting my code.
